Youth Football
"A pathway to success begins no place better than in the company of your own friends"
Youth football is a great way for young athletes to develop their skills and passion for the sport.
As they progress through the ranks, they can gain valuable experience and exposure that can
help them transition to the men's game. With hard work and dedication, the pathway to men's
football can be a rewarding journey for any young player. In the 2023/24 season we had 116
youth cherries signed on throughout our youth program and we look to keep this
growing each year with the addition of an Under 9's team.
Our Story
Here at Sturminster Newton United we provide a youth department from ages U8's all the way to U15's.
Ability is not a concern here and we will put our time and effort into every single person who plays for our club.
Even if you have never kicked a football before, don't be scared to give it a go, come along for a taster
session a see how you get on!
Over the years our youth department has proved to create some fantastic players who have eventually gone
on to play for our senior 1st team. With the likes of Billy Bright, Theo Crane and William Guppy all starring
in the 2023/24 DPL Champions team and League Cup winning team. These lads were also part of the
U15's League winners trophy in 2018 with then Manager, now Vice chairman, Ian Myall.
We now have a great lineup of managers throughout the youth section who are all qualified to a minimum
of FA Level 1 Coaching and hold valuable experience in coaching young children. We hope to see you
come along soon and join our family of Cherries!
