Five for Cherries
The Cherries gained their first points of the Wessex League with a comfortable
win over Christchurch.
The game started very evenly, neither team creating any
clear-cut chances, both defences on top, however in the 20 minute an end-toend
flowing move from Sturminster saw Eliot Bevis outpace the defence, only to
be bought down just outside the area, the defender saw red and the visitors had
to play the remaining 70 minutes with 10 men. Initally, this did not phase them,
as a ball was turned over in midfield, releading Chipangura who calmly finished
to give the ten men the advantage.

It took Sturminster until just before the hald time break to equalise, George Coleman
eventually forcing the ball home after a goalmouth scramble.
A subtle change of shape and personnel at half time ensured Sturminster capitalised on their man advantage
and took control of the game. Nick Hewlett finished neatly from a recycled corner to double the lead, George
Coleman doubled his personal tally as he was found unmarked in the box and when a neat through ball found
Sean Hart, he made no mistaje in puttinf the Cherries 4-1 ahead. With only a couple of minutes remaining there
was still time for George Coleman to score his third of the night, again found in space he rifled his shot into
the roof of the net to cement a great night for the club.
The visit of the FA Cup Trophy to the We Heat South Stadium boosted the crowd with the majority of the 402
spectators leaving very happy with the result.
