Cherries 1 Cheddar 1

27/07/2024

This was our first ever match at step 6 and we hosted Cheddar who finished at the wrong end of the table last season.

After a few early exchanges Stur had the best of the chances but could not find the back of the net and having had the best of the first half went in at half time at 0-0.

The second half started much as the first had finished, and finally a strike from Elliot Bevis with an assist from Rob Hatcher allowed Stur to take the lead.  Cheddar had not created many chances but one of those from a terrific flick in midfield set  Morgan Bacon through to beat Theo Crane in the home goal to level the score at 1-1.   Despite creating many more chances, The Cherries just could not find the back of the net, and our first match in this league ended drawn at 1-1.

Player of the match: Rob Hatcher
