Cherries 5 Telephones 0
The tweet from Bristol Telephones just about sums up this game, saying βDone enough to win the game twice in the opening 44 mins but if you donβt take your chances you get punished ! Credit to Sturminster they did in the 2nd half what we couldβnt in the first.β
And that felt about right! First half was a game of many chances but none being put away and Telephones probably had done enough to be in the lead. But then in the third minute of stoppage time, Adam Hall went on a jinking run through the penalty area and blasted the ball into the back of the net for the first goal of the game. The referee’s next action was to send the players in for half time!
Second half started well for Stur, with their pre-season fitness regime kicking in, and it was almost one way traffic (yes, the away side had their chances). Ten minutes into the half, George (GC) Coleman scored from the spot, followed by a strike just eight minutes later by George (W) Coleman. Less than ten minutes later Elliot Bevis made the score 4-0 to the home side, with a fifth goal in the 81st minute from Jensen Doerr.
Great performance from the Cherries which gives them two wins from two and top spot in the table.
