Lavvy 2 Stur 0

Sturminster came away empty handed from their first away match in the league as they lost 2-0 at Laverstock and Ford.

A good Laverstock team dominated most of the first half, however Sturminster were well organised and worked hard, restricting their opponents clear cut chances, however Laverstock should have gone into the break a goal up as on the stroke of half-time a free header from 6 yards glided past the outside of the post.

Playing with the advantage of the slope, Sturminster were causing more issues for the home team in the second half, however a mix up in the Sturminster defence in the 62nd minute allowed Devon Arnold to walk the ball into the empty net. Sturminster pressed hard for the equaliser but struggled to penetrate the Laverstock defence. A great save by Theo Crane from a Laverstock free kick kept Sturminster in the hunt, however in the 88th minute Richard Cooper pounced on a rebounded shot and sealed the points for the home side.
