New Milton Town 2 Cherries 1

We started our pre-season schedule against newly promoted New Milton Town who play this season in the Wessex League Premier Division.  The match was played at Shaftesbury’s ground.

Thoroughly good performance from the Cherries, trying out a handful of new players against a decent New Milton side who also performed well.  A well struck shot from distance gave the opposition the first half lead, but nothing to choose between the two teams really.

Second half the Cherries equalised through an Elliot Bevis penalty, but New Milton grabbed a winner late in the game to make the final score New Milton Town 2 Sturminster Newton United 1.

A really positive start to our pre-season campaign.

Next Saturday we travel to Cobham Sports, ko 3pm.
