Great start at Fareham

After an early pitch inspection, all looked good at 3pm for our first outing to Cams Alders, despite the rain.

Stur seemed to have much the better of the first half, although if the Fareham front runners had not kept straying offside this might have been different. Stur had two clear chances during the half as the weather worsened, one from close range which the keeper managed to get in the way of, and minutes later again a good chance, which in reality should have put Stur two goals to the good. Fareham’s only real chance of the half was late on when a good shot from outside the box was well saved by Theo Crane diving a long way to his right to push the ball wide of the goal.

As the first half went on the Cherries penalty area became wetter with the ball struggling to roll in places and players splashing through the growing wet patches.

At the half time break the referee sensibly drew a close to proceedings. Nobody argued, absolutely the right decision, so we had a cuppa and drove home.
We will have another go on 27th February.

Oreo had had enough of the weather and sought warmth with Mum!
