Cherries keep the pressure on

Welton Rovers 1  Sturminster Newton united 4

Our first ever trip to Welton Rovers started well with Buddy O’Shea getting on the scoresheet within the first ten minutes. Stur pressure continued during the half creating a few chances but without a lot of luck, although luck was with them when one of Welton’s forwards shot from distance and watched the ball crash against the underside of the bar and come back out.  On a different day, who knows?
Shortly before half time, Stur had the ball in the back of the net again, but the shot glanced off a Cherries player in an offside position, so the half time break came along with just a single goal separating the two teams.
Second half goals started coming, with Elliot Bevis scoring 10 minutes in, and then again on 69 minutes for his second and Stur’s third of the afternoon.  Seven minutes later Adam hall got himself on the scoresheet, and despite everybody’s best efforts the final score – 4-1 to the visitors, keeping good pressure on the teams only slightly above us in the table.
