Reserves top of the pile

Sturminster Newton United Reserves 2 Mudeford 1

Back at the We Heat South Stadium for this afternoon’s encounter with Mudeford Men’s in the Dorset League Division One. Top v bottom.

Cherries were rewarded with an early goal after just 17 minutes when Fin Welch set up Charlie Garrod to open the scoring. The scoreline stayed that way for the half, but then just a few minutes after half time, the visitors levelled at 1-1.

Ben Bosley came on as a sub for Dan Judd on 62 minutes, and rewarded the manager’s canny substitution with a a second goal for the Cherries just six minutes later. 2-1 to Stur.

And that’s how it stayed for the rest of the match. Three more points to our tally. Top of the table.

Now let’s see where next week takes us when we welcome Wilton to the We Heat South stadium on Saturday.

Today’s player of the match was Charlie Garrod.
